Apricots, apples, and minerals on the nose. Approaching semi-sweet on the palate with a healthy dose of acid to keep it balanced. Will improve over the next 3 years.

Pezoules Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Peloponnese

Cassis, cedar, spices, tar, and nuts on the nose. It is medium-to-full boided with soft tannins and lots of ripe fruit. Exceptional value.

Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Los Quillayes Vineyard, Maipo Alto

Cassis, mint, and herbs on the nose. It has lots of fruit, is full-bodied, has ripe tannins, a solid structure, and a lingering aftertaste. Fantastic wine.

Stoney Ridge Pinot Noir 2011, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Strawberry, barnyard, and spices on the nose. It is medium-bodied with soft tannins, a good amount of fruit, and a lingering aftertaste.

Roses, anise, and spices on the nose. It is medium-bodied, flavourful, with crisp acidity, and a long aftertaste.

Tbilvino Vazisubani Single Estate Dry White 2007, Gurjaani District

Citrus and mineral aromas. Easy-drinking and fruity, with crisp acidity. Good value, but not particularly distinctive.

Nederburg Shiraz 2010, Western Cape

Smoky and meaty, with leathery notes, blackberry, and spices. Lots of ripe fruit on the palate with softening tannins, but some bitterness that is distracting.

Cooralook Chardonnay 2009

Lemon, green apple with toasty notes. It has plenty of fruit with crisp acidity and is medium-bodied. Great value.
