Henry Of Pelham Cabernet Merlot 2018, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$15.95
Very pleasant. Not hugely complex or deep, but elegant, with balanced acids and smooth tannins.
Terrific value, especially at the current discounted price of $13.95. Nice to see that Ontario wineries are able to produce this quality of product at this price point.

Just tried the 2019 vintage, which tastes much sweeter than the i recall being the case for the 2018 vintage reviewed above. Not an improvement.
Bastide Miraflors Syrah/Vieilles Vignes Grenache 2018, Ap Côtes Du Roussillon
Roussillon, France$19.95
This doesn’t work for me. Coarse and hot and almost bitter, with alcohol heat. Lots going on but I don’t want to be part of it.
Lua Cheia Old Vines Red 2019, Doc Douro
Douro, Portugal$15.95
This wine remains me of a granite countertop: very dense and almost unpenetrable. Agree with Michael: low in aromatics. but i do love the acidity and lack of harshness. Moderate alcohol a plus.
Cave Spring Dry Rosé 2020, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$15.95
Very tart, dry and refreshing, with a hint of spritz. I am not finding the density of flavour noted by Steve above. but it is very clean.
Fabrègues Sélection Picpoul De Pinet 2020, Ap Picpoul De Pinet
Languedoc, France$16.95
I’ll go with the consensus on this one. 89 is an average of the 4 critic reviews. Has a slight bitterness, but that isn’t a bad thing. Went well with, and in, pasta carbonara.
Edetària Via Edetana 2017, Do Terra Alta
Spain$19.95
Very smooth, but good acidity. Slightly faded, with sandalwood lurking in the background, but raspberry fruit upfront. Definitely a Spanish wine.
Casa Ferreirinha Papa Figos Tinto 2018, Doc Douro
Douro, Portugal$15.95
Very rounded and fruity on entry, with a vague impression of sweetness. Not on the dusty end of the Douro spectrum. Smooth and has decent acidity. Quite enjoyable overall.
Estancia Los Cardones Anko Torrontés 2019, Valle De Cafayate, Valles Calchaquíes, Salta
Cafayate Valley, Argentina$13.75
Nobody has mentioned that Torrontes can sometimes taste a bit “soapy”, and this one had flashes of it. Still, I really liked it, for all the reasons outlined by David.
13th Street Burger Blend Red, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$15.95
Very light and simple. I don’t know how you could get to a 92 rating. but enjoyable for what it is.
BTW: this isn’t what I would match with burger. not hefty enough to match with burger condiments.
Divino Silvaner Trocken 2019, Qualitätswein
Franken, Germany$16.95
Reviews above are spot on. Lighter than I expected.
