Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Featherstone Cabernet Franc 2017, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Ripe, medium-high intensity nose delivers tobacco leaf, dark red fruit, and herbaceous hints. The medium-bodied palate shows nice aroma replays plus subtle, well-integrated oak tones. Very good acidity is a touch tart, while supple tannins add texture. The finish length is very good. Tasted Aug/2019.
Southbrook Triomphe Merlot 2017, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$27.95
This Merlot (with 15% Gamay) has a pleasing, medium+ intensity nose of currant, cassis, black cherry with bits of cocoa and chocolate aromas. It's medium-bodied with clean acids, supple tannins, and nicely balanced aroma replays on the palate. There's a touch of grip on the mid-palate. Very good length on the rounded finish with more chocolate and dark berry notes. Tasted Feb/2020.
Thirty Bench Winemaker's Blend Riesling 2017, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$22.95
Fragrant, medium-high intensity nose offers limestone mineral, peach, lime citrus, and orange aromas. It has balanced acids on the chalky mineral textured palate with lovely, honeyed aroma replays in a medium-sweet flavour profile. Finishes long and clean. Tasted Sept/2019.
Bodega Fin Del Mundo Neuquén Gran Reserva 2015, Patagonia, Argentina
Patagonia, Argentina$24.95
Typically a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, this has a medium-high intensity nose featuring tobacco, herbal, savoury, and dark berry aromas. It is medium-bodied with currant, floral, purple fruit, currant, cassis, and some stony mineral flavours. It has fresh acids, supple tannins, and a crisp finish with very good length. Tasted June/2019.
Juniper Estate Juniper Crossing Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2016, Margaret River, Western Australia
Australia$21.95
Tasted June/2019.
Kellerei Bozen Bolzano Chardonnay 2018, Doc Südtirol Alto Adige
Alto Adige-Trentino, Italy$20.95
Funky mineral, white flowers, lime, ripe citrus, and grapefruit aromas and flavours. It's fresh with balanced acids and very good finish length. Tasted June/2019.
Wakefield Jaraman Shiraz 2017, Clare Valley/Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$24.95
Screw cap. Aromas of ripe black and blue fruit along with oak resin, wood, brown spices, and meaty notes with touches of licorice rise out of the glass. It's medium-full bodied on the slightly warm palate with flavours of blackberry, blueberry, savoury oak spice, and earthy tones with hints of white pepper. Food-friendly acids are juicy and well-balanced, while smooth, polished tannins have a fine-grained texture. Wood and savoury notes linger on the finish, with good length. Tasted Dec/2020.
Bel Air Clochers Saint Amour 2017, Ap
Beaujolais, France$18.95
Fresh and perfumed with currant, red berry, floral, beetroot and some spice aromas. It's light-to-mid weighted with spicy currant and red berry aroma replays on the flavour profile, plus some earthy notes. Acids are fresh and the finish length is very good. Tasted June/2019.
