Ruffino Aziano Chianti Classico 2008, Tuscany

Nose is earthy and opens with leather, terroir and dried mushrooms. Flavours of dried cherries and leather on the palate. Very tannic with a dry, medium finish.

Boutari Grande Reserve 2004, Aoqs Naoussa

Claret colour. Certainly old world style. Delicate and floral. Notes of crushed flowers, predominantly roses with cherries. Fine balance and soft tannins.

Decanting is a must and it should be enjoyed with food. It is a little green at the moment and may benefit from age.

Catena Chardonnay 2010, Mendoza

A very nice chardonnay. Smooth, soft, complex and well balanced. Notes of stoned fruit, pear, apple, butter, and slight notes of pie crust and cinnamon. Great value.

Lurton Les Fumées Blanches Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Vin De France

Light bodied. Mild herbaceous notes of grass clippings, pineapple, green apple and white pepper. Slightly acidic, crisp finish.

Santa Barbara Wine Company Chardonnay 2009, Santa Barbara County

A vibrant and easy sipping wine. Citrus notes mixed with integrated notes of lightly smokey oak and butter. Crisp and lingering finish, but a little on the acidic side for me.

Decent value for a California Chardonnay.

Domaine Boyar Blueridge Xr Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2009

A sweet chardonnay showing notes of honey, pear, vanilla, oak and smoke. A decent wine, but was surprised by how sweet and smokey it is.

Henry Of Pelham Baco Noir 2010, VQA Ontario

Inky red colour. Medium body. Sour dark berries, earthy notes and light cedar. Unbalanced finish.

Cooralook Pinot Gris 2010

Straw yellow colour. Rich buttery plate with nice touches of oak, cinnamon, caramelized apple, vanilla, pineapple, pie crust and peach. Medium finish.

Sterling Vintner's Collection Merlot 2009, Central Coast, California

Fresh, lively fruit dominated by black cherry and strawberry with nicely floral notes. Light tannins, but lacks complexity. Less body, oak and sweetness than a typical California Merlot.

Bouchard Père & Fils Mâcon Lugny Saint Pierre 2010, Burgundy

Medium bodied chardonnay. Apple, pear, citrus notes, cinnamon and hint of chalk on an otherwise clean, smooth finish.
