Château Lajarre Cuvée Eléonore 2010, Ac Bordeaux Supérieur
Bordeaux, France$15.95
A simple but enjoyable wine. Fruit is mild and tart with oak and soft dusty finish. Not a great deal of depth or value, even at $16. Drink now.
Tasted April 2013.
Viña San Esteban In Situ Winemaker's Selection Carmenère 2010, Aconcagua
Chile$15.95
A simple, but enjoyable wine. Not what I would consider to be characteristic of carmenere as it is more fuit forward, tannic, and less viscosity than I would have expected. Overall a well put together wine for the price. May put away for a year or two.

Farnese Casale Vecchio Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2011, Abruzzo
Abruzzo, Italy$10.95
Lots of tarry black fruit, herbal notes with spice and oak. Not a great deal of depth here, but enough structure to make this a good value for under $12.
Tasted October 2013.
Dreyer Family Lion's Lair Family Reserve White 2012, Wo Swartland
Coastal Region, South Africa$13.95
Waxy, mineral base with orange rind, pear and white peach. Acid is forward so I would recommend having it with food, particularly those that are on the fatty side.
A blend that is certainly worth a try if you're looking for something a little different and don't want to break the bank.

Castello Della Sala Bramìto Del Cervo Chardonnay 2012, Igt Umbria
Umbria, Italy$21.95
A restrained and elegant nose, but rather rich and expressive on the palate.
Agree with above notes on structure, oak influence and length. A buttery chardonnay without the sweet, vanilla or coconut notes we too often see with oaked chardonnay.

Villa Sandi Prosecco, Doc Treviso
Veneto, Italy$14.45
A very fruity sparkling with notes of citrus fruits, peach, pear and apple. Acidity is well balanced with the sweetness. Good value.

Ghost Pines Winemaker's Blend Chardonnay 2007, Monterey/Napa/Sonoma Counties
California, Usa$19.95
Very light for a Chardonnary. Well-balanced and easy finish, but flavours were too subtle and unapparent. Light melon, honey and butter.
Tilia Torrontes 2009, Salta, Argentina
Argentina$12.95
Pale straw colour. Apple, lime zest, pear, peach, and cinnamon stick. Sweet and a little too acidic for me. Lacks balance.
Boutari Grande Reserve 2004, Aoqs Naoussa
Naoussa, Greece$18.95
Claret colour. Certainly old world style. Delicate and floral. Notes of crushed flowers, predominantly roses with cherries. Fine balance and soft tannins.
Decanting is a must and it should be enjoyed with food. It is a little green at the moment and may benefit from age.
Tasted July 2012.
