Decent table wine. Floral notes and light fruit. Light to medium body. Little to no spice, quick soft finish.

Waka Waka Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Paarl

Average sauvignon blanc, flavours of pear, apple, guava, a little sweet spice and hints of grass. On the sweeter side with slight acidity and a moderately clean finish.

Osoyoos Larose Petales D' Osoyoos 2009, VQA Okanagan Valley

Very, very disapointing. The bouquet is ripe with complexity. Earth, casis and tobacco. Unfortunately, the palate is flat and lifeless and overly tannic.

Mountadam Vineyards Cabernet/Merlot 2008, Barossa, South Australia

With JH on this one. Blackish red in colour. Interesting herbaceous notes, particularly mint and anise. Dark, rich berries dominate the fruit. The blend comes together nicely.

Good value for money and a pleasant surprise for anyone that is not always a fan of Barossa fruit.

Clos Du Bois Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, North Coast

Lots of sweet, black fruit with plenty of smoke and spice. Medium body and lack of structure for sure.

Even with $2 off, not great value.

Open Sociable Sparkling 2009, Ontario VQA

A great everyday sparkling with toasty notes and not too much fruit with decent balance. I highly recommend for the price. Good value.

Rivera Cappellaccio Riserva Aglianico 2005, Doc Castel Del Monte

Crushed cherries and cedar are the main features. Good structure with medium length and a clean finish. Value.

Decanting is recommended.

Pasqua Pinot Grigio Chardonnay Delle Venezie 2010, Veneto

A simple soft, light drinking wine. Little bit of oak, but not much depth or acidity. Similar to what one would expect in a Vinho Verde.

Decent table wine, a definite lack of complexity. Over priced even at fifteen dollars.
