Cono Sur Bicicleta Viognier 2013
Colchagua Valley, Chile$9.95
Plenty of exotic tropical fruit and perfumey with mild acids. The finish is smooth and creamy.
Can't believe the price.

Viña Casablanca El Bosque Carmenère 2010, Winemaker's Choice, Rapel Valley
Rapel Valley, Chile$15.95
A restrained, easy-drinking offering of Carmenere. A great blend of earthiness, stewed black fruit and spice. Savoury with mild dark chocolate and tannins and acids in check that lead to a smooth finish. I appreciated that there wasn't too much in the way of oak or espresso/coffee that can dominate, or ruin, Carmenere.
Drink now.

Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2011, Igp Côtes Catalanes
Southwest, France$17.95
A rather polished offering for the price that makes it a real crowd pleaser. However, it's still evocative of southern France. Full to medium-bodied with lots of dark fruit, spice, and earth-driven notes. The long, clean finish makes this value buy stand out for me.

Sivas Sonoma Old Vine Zinfandel 2009, Sonoma County
California, Usa$18.95
Jammy bumbleberries, tart raspberries with sour cherries. A modest finish, but unbalanced sweetness and acidity. Fleshy yes, but a lack of integrated oak and depth.
Pair with sweet bbq. Moderate value.

Pirramimma Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Mclaren Vale
South Australia, Australia$23.95
A solid wine, but not the best value. It certainly didn't live up to expectations based on previous vintages nor the price tag.
Lots of plum, blue berries, black berries, mint, chocolate, and oak. The alcohol lingers on an otherwise decent finish.
Certainly something to decant.

Rhône, France$12.75
Spinifex Papillon Grenache/Cinsault/Carignan/Shiraz 2010, Barossa Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$22.25
Not much to add on tasting notes here. An elegant wine that focuses on restraint. complex and layered with depth for the price. A great grab at the bin end sale.

Michele Chiarlo Le Marne Gavi 2011, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$17.95
On the sweeter side with slight acidity.
White flowers, peaches, nectarines and hints of spice. Medium palate and clean, refreshing finish.

Chateau De Gourgazaud 2010, Minervois
Languedoc, France$12.95
Great value wine. Offers surprising balance and nice finish. LCBO tasting notes are pretty spot on.
