Initial impressions were not favorable - all acid and alcohol. But with some breathing the fruit presented itself and the wine became more enjoyable and balanced. Blackberry and plum and chocolate with the occasional herbal note. Ok.

Blackcurrent, pepper and wood on the nose. Concentrated fruit with an impression of a smooth sweetness despite solid acidic edge. Peppery burst at the end of and fairly lengthy finish. I like. The acid makes it nice food wine but I find it interesting enough on its own as well.
