Magnotta Venture Series Pinot Grigio 2017, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$13.45
This was reasonable but not even close to a 91. No idea what they were drinking.
Falernia Gran Reserva Syrah 2017, Valle Del Elquí
Elquí Valley, Chile$16.95
This was an 89 the first day, and a 91 on day two. Needed time to open up apparently. I will try a second one, with a much longer decant.
Cadus Gualtallary Malbec 2018, Gualtallary, Uco Valley, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$20.95
Solid wine. A bit hot, which tempered the fruit tastes.
Osoyoos Larose Le Grand Vin 2006, VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$44.95
Various fruit aromas/flavours, finishing with a pine/cedar flavour that lingered nicely. More complex than my limited wine vocabulary is able to articulate. One of the nicest wines I have ever had. Fantastic. Tasted December 2012.
Chapel Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Mclaren Vale
South Australia, Australia$26.95
Big, beautiful cab sauv. Classic cassis on the nose, layers of flavour like waves, and a long finish. Top drawer.
K W V Cathedral Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Western Cape
South Africa$15.95
This is a very nice cab sauv for $15 - full bodied, black current, leather, earthy taste. Good steak wine, bought 3 more. 89-90.
Masi Serego Alighieri Possessioni Rosso 2009, Veneto
Veneto, Italy$15.00
Nice $15 bottle, medium body, polished, berries/cherries/earthy, nice finish. Nice with prime rib.
La Sauvageonne Pica Broca 2008, Ac Coteaux Du Languedoc
Languedoc, France$12.90
This is a nice, food-friendly wine for $13 - recommended. 89+
