J.L. Chave Crozes Hermitage Rouge Silène 2014
Rhône, France$31.00
2020 to be safe (which is same as 2013) so maybe can go to 2021 at latest .
February 2021....had with chicken chilli, worked just fine. Lovely wine, lots of flavour and depth, structure....class act. I never seem to be disappointed by JL Chave, all their wines are highly drinkable. Makes me a fan of French wine when many do not.
Sottimano Langhe Nebbiolo 2013, Doc
Piedmont, Italy$29.95

after 2020 (decant 1-2 hours)
by 22/23 seems to be it!
Nebbiolo food pairings: veal medallions, roasted pork loin, prime rib, coq au vin, grilled tuna with a pepper crust.
.....mouthwatering with evident tannins that make this wine the perfect pairing to many traditional Italian pasta dishes.
Would also be exceptional with your next steak.
Can be enjoyed now, but will do really well if it rest for 5-7 years (2021-23)
Mar 2021...yummy, delicate, had with Med. Chicken. Really enjoyed.
Mar 2021...gifted to Ann G on her birthday
Nov 2024....with Norah, moussaka, past its peak but still ok
Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2010, Hawkes Bay
Hawke's Bay, New Zealand$17.25
???....don't remember having, but reviews suggest it may have been even better than 2013 (which I loved)....I must have enjoyed it having purchased another vintage....good decision....a definite consideration if future releases!

Sequillo Cellars Red 2009, Wo Swartland
Swartland, South Africa$23.90
1st one ....nice
2018 latest
August 2021.....must have had the second one many years ago. Both Chris and I quite enjoyed this wine. Clear glass bottle and interesting label as well.
Grant Burge Corryton Park Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Barossa
South Australia, Australia$32.95
2018-22
Feb/18....1st of 2....rich & flavourful but a touch hot on the finish. Appears fully evolved, decent amount of sediment. Had with a homemade hamburger, nice but this wine needs a steak. Try last one 2019/20.
June 2020.....appears to have completely mellowed out, quite enjoyed, didn't sense the 'burn' from 2 years previous.
Valdivieso éclat 2010, Dry Farmed, Old Vines
Maule Valley, Chile$32.95
(4)* 2019(decant)+2020+2021+gift?(A&G)
February 29, 2020....hostess gift to A&G, they held a dinner for the golf foursome.
July 2020...forget what the meal was but really liked the wine, a nice blend of wines I enjoy. Was quite refined for Chile.
Sept 2021.....really terrific wine, still tasting great. Think I opened it to have with osso bucco. Drink last one in mid-2022. Keeper!
Spring 2022...pretty sure I had last one around this time....no more left???

2016-2019
March 2024.....pretty sure this is the only one I have, probably gave one away. Was worried it might be bad but on the contrary quite nice. Certainly aged and smooth, but rich with dense fruit flavours, quite lovely. Had with leftover moussaka. (92)
