Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello 2013, Santa Cruz Mountains
California, Usa$191.95
Actually it is 2014!
Vineyard says 15 - 30 years....wow!!
Window per AG 2026-2044.
Try 2027? (turning 70!)
The 2014 Monte Bello is bright, precise and finely sculpted throughout, with a slightly more reddish leaning flavor profile than is found in some of the surrounding vintages. In 2014, Monte Bello is built on bright, pulsating acidity and energy. Relative to recent vintages such as 2012, 2013 and 2015, the 2014 is a bit compact and tightly wound. The slightly nervous style is likely to require at least a decade to be fully appreciated. In 2014, the blend is more typical of Monte Bello than the Cabernet-dominated 2013, with a greater role for Merlot and other complementary grapes. The only real issue with the 2014 is that it is sandwiched between two truly epic vintages. Drinking window: 2026-2044. Score - 96. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, June 2016)

May 2020....had with bbq steak, Sunday night dinner with the kids. So powerful, think it may have been a bit much for Crystal. Andrew actually sipped it and like it or so he says. This wine, Priorat in general, with aging, aeration and the right food is absolutely delicious. (93)
Punset Barbaresco 2008
Piedmont, Italy$55.95
2019 +2020
Wine Spectator: "An aromatic and flavorful red, with rose, cherry, licorice, tobacco and briar notes. Both supple and vibrant, this has an elegance that belies the extremely dense tannins. Shows excellent length, with an aftertaste of fruit, underbrush and mineral. Best from 2015 through 2030. 1,200 cases made." Feb 2013
Feb 2019....Sun dinner w the kids....Asian marinated chicken legs...great wine, medium body, complex, smooth, delicious.....real quality stuff (cork was near Saturated)
April 2021...cork was saturated and moldy but wine was perfect. With pan fried chicken. Yum!
