Pfaffenheim Brut Rosé Crémant D'alsace Bottle
Pfaffenheim Brut Rosé Crémant D'alsace
Alsace, France
$17.95

Seriously terrible. Tastes rotten. Pretty much everybody involved with the making and distribution of this wine should be ashamed. The LCBO should offer a refund and an apology to those of us that purchased this crud.

Pondview Cabernet Franc Rosé 2013, VQA Four Mile Creek, Niagara Peninsula

Bigger styled Rose, offering loads of flavor with a hint of sweetness. The 2014 has lightened up considerably and much resembles that of a Cotes du Provence.

The finish is a tad brief, but other than that, this is a delicious lip smacking KICKASS wine!

Even though this is a tad sweet, it drinks really nice. It's oaky and buttery, with lots of tropical notes. Buttery banana cream on the finish. MMMMM

Don't listen to the WA folks, they're always after the same style of wine - underripe and acidic (fresh in their words) showing sense of place...give me a break...this wine is structured and shows oak seasoning as it should for a full bodied ripe wine. Critics hate ripe wines with oak because they say they are not a reflection of place - which actually means that they're not traditionally made. If you're not bound by the mentality of the wine snobs, you will most definitely enjoy this wine. Feel free to give me a thumbs down WA Wolfpack.

Sextant Zinfandel 2013, Central Coast Bottle
Sextant Zinfandel 2013, Central Coast
California, Usa
$21.95

wow, not at all what i was expecting...I was expecting a rich, jammy, Cali fruit bomb, but this....mmm, i would have probably guessed old world in a blind tasting. It's not heavy at all, more medium bodied. It has a kiss of sweetness and oak, but i must say the nose has a hot stone earthy aspect that really looms over the fruit and oak. The palate is really a mixing board of oak, caramel, cherries, orange peel, saltiness and coal or stone...not that you eat stone... The finish is a where this wine suffers - it's a bit short...but not terrible. All in all, this is a nice surprise!

The Little Penguin Merlot 2008 Bottle
The Little Penguin Merlot 2008
Australia

sweet berries and caramel emerge on the nose. one the palate the wine is thin and overly sweet. It's terribly over oaked. tastes like artificial grape juice with caramel extract. It's a cheap wine with cheap qualities. Good for making a tasty fruit punch bowl.

2005 was a better bottle and the old lable was incredible...too bad it changed a bit. this wine has smoky/ oaky/ barnyard/ sweet blueberry cherry fruit. a little flabby but so smooth and delicious.

check out this link for the 2005 release, pretty cool stuff. http://www.flickr.com/photos/itsfood/2194196249/

Belle Glos Meiomi Pinot Noir 2011 Bottle
Belle Glos Meiomi Pinot Noir 2011
California, Usa

Super silky smooth and sweet on the palate. It tastes like other varietals might have been added (Syrah???). This is an easy drinker and a crowd pleaser, but too soft and jammy to be considered a serious wine with a rating of 92pts by WS... really?
