Hermanos Peciña Señorío De P. Peciña Crianza 2009, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$21.95
Here's full throttle extracted modern styled Crianza that bridges together the hedonistic fruit bombs of California with some classic roots in Rioja. Vanilla, oak, ripe cherries, hints of coffee and charcoal. Full bodied, so remember to decant.
Tawse Gamay Noir 2013, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$18.95
Quite delicious. Sweet mulberry, cranberry and beet notes. Some floral notes kicking around as well. The palate is balanced and smooth, but almost watery. Personally I love light reds so this wine has a seat at my table any day of the week.
Caparzo Rosso Di Montalcino 2012
Tuscany, Italy$19.95
Light, soft and supple. Very enjoyable, but should cost $10-12 in my opinion.
Sueño Tempranillo 2011, Do Ribera Del Júcar
Spain$17.95
Cherry, vanilla oak and cedar. Not too heavy not too light.
Prima 2012, Do Toro
Castilla y León, Spain$16.25
This is really outstanding for $20. There's hefty tannins and ripe fruit for new world fans but also hints of meaty/ earthy notes for old world lovers. Smoky oak and cedar adding further complexity. Quite full bodied and smooth. Very balanced. Highly Recommended!
Cave Des Grands Crus Blancs Mâcon Vinzelles 2013, Ac
Burgundy, France$17.95
Light cream, banana peel and white flowers on the nose. An elegant palate provides ample richness, however it finishes with heat. Authentic Chardonnay, good QPR.
Mayu Reserva Carmenère 2013, Elquí Valley
Chile$17.95
Nice wine offering lots of sweet berry notes. I would have liked more structure and grippier tannins. This is a crowd pleaser however, so it won't offend anybody.
Pinyolet Garnacha 2012, Do Montsant
Catalonia, Spain$18.95
A little thin and sweet for my wine snob attitude. It does drink nicely with red fruit and smoky notes and finishes a touch dry. I guess the initial thin qualities hint to cheap Aussie wine and that's why i'm a tad tough on it. $10 would be a fair price.
Ondarre Reserva 2009, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$19.95
Year after year this is so darn good. Warm baking spices, vanilla oak, sweet and sour cherries, black pepper and leather. A creamy silky body makes this a joy to drink. Highly Recommended!
