Teanum Alta Falanghina 2014, Igt Puglia
Puglia, Italy$12.75
Round, rich, creamy nutty and a tad earthy...but finishes just right. Low acid so this is a great alternative to Chardonnay. Pair it with a buttery fish and life is good.
Apollonio Terragnolo Primitivo 2011, Igt Salento Rosso
Puglia, Italy$19.95
Wow this wine is totally outstanding - hickory smoke and ash, sweet orange zest, blackberries and cola on the nose. The palate is juicy and sweet but finishes up tight and dry. Super fine suave tannins. Score - AH YAAA! ...Randy Macho Man!
Terre Bianche Alghero 2014, Doc Torbato
Sardinia, Italy$16.95
Seriously wow, this is one of the best White wines I've ever had. It's beautiful and complex, subtle and charming. It has floral and nutty flavours and the nose smells of fresh spring air.
Louis Latour Domaine De Valmoissine Pinot Noir 2013, Igp Var
Provence, France$15.75
Nice fruity Pinot, drinks with New world vibrancy - reminded me of NZ Pinot. QPR is spot on!
Waterbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, Columbia Valley
Washington, Usa$19.95
Rich and smooth, but to much creamy oak taste for me. However, really well made. Try "Gorden Brothers", it's my favorite Washington producer for cab/sauv and merlot - not available at LCBO, you'll have to purchase it in the US.
Christian Moueix Merlot 2005, Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$15.95
it is what it is ..light and well made but nothing exciting.
Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Mendocino/Lake/Napa Counties
California, Usa$24.95
crowd pleaser, nice rich flavours. Not too complex, but has a delicious factor about it.
Balbas Reserva 2001, Do Ribera Del Duero
Ribera Del Duero, Spain$20.95
A tad disappointed with this wine, I was expecting a gracefully aged old world dance but this wine doesn’t seem to have aged??? The fruit is still fresh and acidity is still firm. Otherwise a nice bottle of wine.
Léon Beyer Pinot Gris 2008, Alsace
Alsace, France$13.70
I love Pinot Gris from the Alsace - lush, ripe and delicious! The mouth feel is incredible, sweet honey melon and slight smoky notes. I could drink this wine every day.
Flat Rock Cellars Pinot Noir 2009, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
A classic pinot noir nose... no way anybody can deny that. Cherry/cola earth/ mushroom/ raspberry. The wine is well made however the fruit could be richer as the body is really light and thin. Overall a great Ontario pinot at a low price. A 3 Star pinot!
