Closson Chase Chardonnay Closson Chase Vineyard 2011, VQA Prince Edward County, Unfiltered
Ontario, Canada$29.95
These's a lot to love about this chardonnay...butter, mineral, zest, vanilla custard cream pie...tons of flavour and class. Super delicious!
Bonacchi Brunello Di Montalcino 2010
Tuscany, Italy$36.95
Sandalwood and cherries. Beautiful fine tannins. Burns like a shot of whiskey. I wouldn't say this is a classic example as it lacks earthiness.
Guenoc Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Lake County
California, Usa$19.95
A nice dry structured Cabernet, not jammy at all. This is one for the decanter. Dark roast coffee, cassis, blackberry herbal tea. Nice grip to the finish. Tasted the 2010...If you're a Cab fan buy a case, for $20 bucks it's amazing. send me a comment - look up my website www.niagarawinevideos.com
Theulot Juillot Mercurey Premier Cru La Cailloute 2014
Burgundy, France$53.00
I suspect people purchasing this wine will already know what to expect, for those that don't, it's a delicate and charming wine. Wax, cherry, tomato plant, smoke and hot stone on the nose. It almost smells volcanic. The palate is really thin, but in a good way as the tannins are silky smooth. This is a very elegant wine with modest complexities.
Matetic Corralillo Syrah 2011, San Antonio Valley
San Antonio Valley, Chile$23.95
Big full bodied wine offering luscious vanilla oak, rich blackberry/blueberry fruit and herbal notes. I loved it!
Muga Reserva 2012
Rioja, Spain$26.95
Here's a full bodied Rioja that offers a harmonious mix of ripe fruit and wood and just a tad of earthiness on the backend. This seems just a bit harsh at the moment, another two or three years in the cellar would really make this bottle sing.
Oban 14 Yo Highland Scotch Single Malt
Scotland, World$169.95
I really love this Scotch b/c it has a little bit of everything - sweet malt, oak, honey but with smoke and sea salt. All the flavors some how stick out individually making this whisky super complex and delicious. The finish could be a bit smother, but hey I'm just looking for reasons to not rate this perfect.
Château Ségur De Cabanac 2004, Ac St Estèphe, Cru Bourgeios
Bordeaux, France$32.70
After almost 10 years of aging and hour of decanting this wine is loaded with cigar and tobacco that mingle with black liquorice, cassis and tar. It's not a big show stopper, it's mid weight but with graceful solid refined polished tannins. There's a hint of green bell pepper and earthiness that I adore. I don't think too many wine lovers would object to this juice at this price point.
Kistler Les Noisetiers Chardonnay 2012, Sonoma Coast
California, Usa$99.95
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS WINE!!! Believe it or not this is the entree level Juice...But I prefer it to the single vineyard designations...full, lush, balanced, unfiltered foggy and delicious...there's a feeling that develops within you when drinking this wine...harmony! If I were an Egyptian King, I'd take a bottle of this to the after life.
13th Street Essence Pinot Noir 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$44.95
Big, bold, dark and structured. Offers up rich black cherry, cola & crème brulee. This Pinot needs to rest for several years before it’s flavours and textures can be fully appreciated.
