Caldora Sangiovese 2010, Terre Di Chieti Igt
Abruzzo, Italy$9.25
Earthy barnyard, cherry, sweet oak, a nice every day sangiovese with Rioja qualities.
Maycas Del Limarí Especial Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Limarí Valley
Limari Valley, Chile$19.95
Nice balance & structure is this grippy full bodied cab with a touch of syrah to add a peppery finish to the classic cabernet notes. I really liked the cedar/ tobacco notes. great wine - I highly recommend!
Justin Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Paso Robles
California, Usa$37.95
liquid silk! soft strawberry and creamy vanilla oak. a suductive wine for sure.
Vineland Elevation Cabernet 2009, VQA Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$25.00
Green bell pepper nose, smoky cherries tobacco and oak. it's medium bodied and well made. really nice sipping wine with a ton of character.
Wits End The Procrastinator 2010, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$19.95
needs about 2 hours to breath, but then it releases nice milk chocolate, black pepper, mineral tones (rhone like). Nice medium to full body. give it some time, it's a really nice wine.
Columbia Crest H3 Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Horse Heaven Hills
Washington, Usa$19.95
Nice value Cab, that offers oaky, chocolate cherries, and sweetness (brown sugar?). Full bodied and well made, but has a touch of "cheep wine" taste to it.
The "Les Chevaux" is much better, in my opinion.
Jean Paul Brun Terres Dorées Morgon 2010, Ac
Beaujolais, France$19.95
wow incredible finish on this wine. Super dry and structured, Just love that. The nose is un-questionably beautiful. sweet berries and cooked beets, a female perfume or potpourri essence. The flavours are currently a bit muted, as this wine deserves to be cellared for a good 6 years, but my palate picked up earthy flavours of berries & green veggies. Super dry finish, and structured..beets for days on the finish...fantastic!
La Castellina Tommaso Bojola Chianti Classico 2007, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$21.95
Juicy cherries, burnt earth, herb or green leaf smell...tastes of juicy cherries, green tee, orange peel lime citrus zest. Interesting light bodied wine. If tasted blind I might have thought it was a rose.
Anakena Ona Pinot Noir 2010, Leyda Valley
San Antonio Valley, Chile$19.95
amazingly complex and well made for a $20 pinot - raspberry jam, smoky bark notes, cherry. Nice and smooth, but dry and structured. medium bodied. Drinking really nice now!
Raymond Family Classic Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, North Coast
California, Usa$19.05
Good but not great. Most 2010s from Napa/ Sonoma are a miss. Although this wine is well made structured and balanced the quality of the fruit is weak. As a result, there are some bitter/austere tasting notes.
