Beronia Elaboración Especial Tempranillo 2009, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$16.95
well made but tastes a bit artificial.
Gérard Bertrand Réserve Spéciale Viognier 2009, Vins De Pays D'oc
Languedoc, France$14.95
nice creamy tropical fruit, but nothing special. I get a straw lime peel on the finish.
Majella The Musician Cabernet/Shiraz 2009, Coonawarra, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$19.95
nice nose of berries, vanilla, basil and flowers. It's medium bodied - I would have liked it to be a tad more lush. the flavours are consistant with the nose and the structure and balance are perfect. It has a nice long fresh dry finish that is characteristic of the coonawarra. Balance is key! I loved drinking this wine.
Lailey Chardonnay 2009, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
The nose offers white flowers, ripe pear & pineapple with hits of vanilla and oak. Nice creamy feel - very nicely balanced fruit to oak. It's not a blockbuster, instead it's graceful in nature. (it finishes a tad hot)
Le Clos Jordanne Village Reserve Pinot Noir 2009, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$30.00
Light and fresh with dusty tannins. Smoky raspberry, beets, rose petals and a hint of earth. Finishes tart.
Domaine Parent Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2009
Burgundy, France$21.95
A good intro to burgundy? a great value?...I guess if you need to sell wine these words work, too bad they don't have meaning with this example. Why does the LCBO choose to import the same old borning below average stuff. Step up, we deserve better. I think I will try shopping in the US it's worth paying the duty, wake up Canada, Wake up. Here's my tasting note BLAH....
Pacha Co Sa Durigutti Malbec 2008, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$13.65
James Molesworth are you sure you're drinking this wine? B/c this wine in no where close to 90 pts.
Inurrieta Cuatrocientos 2007, Do Navarra
Navarra, Spain$15.95
a nice wine that is surprisingly smooth and sophisticated. It has a deepness to it with out being heavy. It has Moroccan spices and nice cherry vanilla flavours. It has a caressing medium body that is smooth and silky. nice long finish.
Trivento Amado Sur Malbec/Bonarda/Syrah 2009, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$16.95
nice bouquet of smoky bark, vanilla and raspberry jam, the palate is silky, supple and graceful. So nicly done that it feels beautiful and devine. Drink the bottle with your queen and gallop away in a state of utmost bliss.
Emiliana Winemaker's Selection Estate Vineyard Carmenère 2009, Los Robles, Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$19.95
the write-up is bang on (for once...haha)
