Domaine Pierre Usseglio Et Fils Châteauneuf Du Pape 2013, Châteauneuf Du Pape
Rhône, France$39.75
Balanced and refined, this wine speaks of its terroir. It has a really stone like quality to it, and for fans of French wine, it is a fine bottle.
Creekside Broken Press Reserve Syrah Queenston Road Vineyard 2015, VQA St. David's Bench
Ontario, Canada$55.00
Pintia 2005, Do Toro
Spain$64.95
A very pleasing wine. The Pintia, which is 100% Tempranillo, was very dark in the glass. The nose was slightly earthy with dark fruits, cassis, oak and a hint of chocolate.
The flavour was deep and complex with a long, slightly dry finish. It gave you the feeling of a vineyard in a hot, dusty plain. This is wine that leaves you wanting to take the next sip.
Burmester 10 Year Old Tawny Port, Dop, Portugal
Douro, Portugal$29.95
The port has a lovely brown tawny colour, and the taste is lovely at the start. However, the aftertaste did not suit me. Not my favourite for a 10 year old port.
De Bortoli Noble One Botrytis Semillon 2008, New South Wales (375ml)
New South Wales, Australia$31.95
The aroma has strong notes of honey, apricot and stone fruits. The wine is extremely balanced and sweet. For those who like sweet wines, this is a fine example.
Tenuta Valdipiatta "Vigna D'alfiero" Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano 2010, Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano
Tuscany, Italy$0.00
This wine was very balanced and smooth on the tongue. Lovely wood and chocolate notes mixed with flavours of plums and blackberries to make this quite enjoyable.
Tasted blind at a Beefsteak and Burgundy club event, Jan. 2015.
