Szászi Birtok Badacsonyi Rózakö 2018, Badasconyi
Hungary$30.65
Good acidity that moves into a rounder and spicier territory. One sip leads to another!! Went very well with grilled salmon with a rhubarb-based sauce.
Soumah Hexham Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2018, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Victoria, Australia$31.18
Lots of buttery spice and citrus acidity. A bit of honey. Great flavours, very smooth texture and nice finish. Should age well for a few years. Delicious.
Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado White 2018
Douro, Portugal$31.78
Very restrained nose. Nice yellow colour into rim. Flavour is dominated by a ripe lemon acidity, not overly crisp . Balance is good. Bit of beeswax and fresh herbs. A good sipper and should accompany food as well.
Westcott Estate Chardonnay 2019, VQA Niagara Escarpment, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$29.99
Lovely and rich. Creamy with tropical fruit and spicy flavours. Great balance.
Azores Wine Company Rosé Vulcanico 2019, Azores
Portugal$27.26
An enjoyable balance between fruit and saline minerality along with floral and beeswax notes. Smooth texture. Looks nice in the glass too!
Adamo Foxcroft Vineyard Chardonnay 2017, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$26.50
Buttery and spicy oak. I feel that the oak is overdone and overshadows the fruit at this point in time. It is a good wine just the same. Good length and intensity.
Hidden Bench Locust Lane Rosé 2019, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$24.95
A very rich rose with berry, herbal and apple notes. Extremely smooth textural notes for a 12% ABV wine.
Tessari Grisela Soave Classico 2018, Veneto
Veneto, Italy$22.74
Well-balanced and gentle mix of fresh tree fruit, herbs, dried white fruit and hay. No one element overpowers. Good food wine and totally sippable too.
Mateus Nicolau De Almeida Eremitas Antao Do Deserto 2017
Douro, Portugal$31.50
Not for sipping and a bit hard to think of a food match. Detected salinity, smoke, bitter herbs and a bit of pineapple. Lots of flavour but low on balance and elegance.
Eleivera Branco Duoro Dos Lusiadas 2018, Duoro
Douro, Portugal$25.06
Mellow and round, with a hit of peppery spice, good fruit, medium acidity, well-balanced.
