I learned to love the tasty juice through my education at George Brown College. I believe there is a perfect bottle for every occasion. I like my Italians Red, my Frenchies White, my Americanos black, and my Brazilians blonde. I believe wine goes with food, with friends, with music, and with days of the week that end in Y.
Cheers to getting your wine on.

Heredad De Baroja Gran Reserva 2001, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$24.95
Oh me oh my. 12 year old beauty Rioja here. Like Hugh Hefner BBQing Portobello's at the mansion. It mature, smells like cooked mushrooms and cherry lipstck, and its silky smooth like his pyjamas. Before diving into the Grotto, grab a bottle of this to share with the May bunny.
Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz 2008, Coonawarra, South Australia
Australia$22.95
Wynner, Wynner, Chicken dinner. Anything Wynns makes is usually good in my books.
Like Mike Tyson eating peanut butter right out of the jar. This Shiraz is powerful, really really dense and it sticks to the roof of your mouth. Put some Phil Collins on and pour this beside a plate of ribs soaked with your favorite BBQ sauce.
Luigi Bosca Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Maipú, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$15.25
Great value Cab from Argentina here. Like a bachelor party night. It smells like cigar smoke with a hint of vanilla perfume and leather unmentionables, and its smooth like the boys one-liners. Get your Wolf Pack together for a preload and pair it with a big ribeye and a dollop of horseradish.
Paxton Aaa Shiraz/Grenache 2010, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
Australia$19.95
The triple A has to insure this wine is quality. Cool fall days is the time for Shiraz. It’s like watching Modern Family while eating a mon cheri with both arms in your slanket. Its warm and comfortable, has a sweet boozy chocolate taste and it’ll make you smile. Like Phil says, I’m totally pumped for this wine, “Pump up the jam, Pumped up kicks, Pumpedy dumpty, Pumplestiltskin.”
Château L'argentier Vieilles Vignes De Carignan 2007, Vin De Pays Du Gard
Languedoc, France$19.95
Stinky wine lovers rejoice. This wine from 72 year old vines has a deep, dark look. Its like waiting in line to buy something on seniors day at Shoppers Drug Mart. It smells like a mothy corduroy jacket, 6 month-old coupons, a fresh perm, and a whack of minty Polident. Have your Grandparents over and pair this with a meaty flank steak. At $20 a bottle, its a real blue haired special.
Domaine De Bila Haut Occultum Lapidem 2008, Ac Côtes Du Roussillon Villages Latour De France
Languedoc, France$25.95
M. Chapoutier, introduced Braille labeling on his wines in 1994 so a blind family member could read the labels. You only need your nose to enjoy this wine in the blindness of the light. It got me revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night. Lamb please.
Mayu Reserva Carmenère 2009, Elqui Valley
Chile$17.95
Second year in a row I’m on this Chilean. You’ll love this if you love the stinky, full bodied wines. This is like Marty Brodeur BBQing with his gloves on. Its smell like smoke and sweaty leather mitts, has amazing balance, and will age very well. Have a few of these ready for game 7 with a charred leg of lamb with a side of mint sauce.
Mount Riley Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$16.95
The New Zealand Marlborough region makes some classic tasting Sauv Blancs. This smells like grass, gooseberry and grapefruit and has mouth watering acidity that keeps you wanting more. Just like the first time you heard that Def Leppard tape in your Walkman. Red light , yellow light, green light go. Pour some of this sugar in my glass and pass me a salty cracker.
Masi Brolo Di Campofiorin 2007, Igt Rosso Del Veronese, Appassimento
Veneto, Italy$26.95
Masi is one of my favorite Italian producers. This is an amazing mouthful for the price. Like Jewel belting out a tune. It’s quite hot, smells woodsy and homey, and you’ll drink enough to straighten your teeth. Park the RV, Break from Bad, get a bottle of this and drink it with some roast prime rib. (I don’t know any Jewel lyrics)
Dry Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County
California, Usa$24.95
A California cab that’s good for $25. That does not happen very often. Like Cee Lo Green drinking freshly squeezed OJ. Its big, round and real Juicy. Drive around town and get a few of these, and forget you and forget the food. Its great on it’s own.
