Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, South Australia
Australia$16.95
Safe choice when you don't want to take risks with your party guests. Tasted February 2014.
Luigi Righetti Campolieti Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2011, Doc
Veneto, Italy$17.95
Excellent Ripasso...especially great complexity for the price. Too bad the LCBO does not carry this wine. The SAQ in Quebec is the closest place to buy it... Tasted December 2015.
Coli Chianti Classico Riserva 2009, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$16.95
A little bit thin upon opening, but really takes some substance after an hour of decanting. Some heat distracts from pure enjoyment, but all in all this is a decent Chianti for $17. Tasted September 2016.
Konzelmann Heritage Reserve 2012, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$21.75
Decent wine but limited depth. Tasted December 2015.
Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
California, Usa$18.95
Great Cab from California, ideal for your Christmas parties. Solid wine for a good price. Tasted December 2014.
Castillo De Almansa Reserva 2009
Spain$12.95
First attempt at a Tempranillo was a good one. Tasted September 2013.
Canonica A Cerreto Sandiavolo 2008, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$19.75
Great blend of 3 grapes (Sangiovese, Cab Sauvignon, Merlot) in equal portions. A bit too much alcohol. Decant at least 1 hour for better enjoyment. Tasted March 2016.
Boutari Agiorgitiko 2013, Nemea
Greece$14.05
Very impressive for $13 ! I agree with the reviews comparing this wine to a Rhone-based Grenache. Stock up for the summer BBQs. One hour of decanting helped. Tasted March 2016.
Château La Tour De L'évêque Rosé 2014, Ac Côtes De Provence, Hand Harvested
Provence, France$19.95
Utterly disappointed about this wine which seems to have a good track record. The alcohol is felt so strongly that it is difficult to truly enjoy this wine. Tasted July 2015
