Monte Antico 2007, Igt Toscana, Sangiovese/Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon
Tuscany, Italy$15.95
In my opinion, the 2006 vintage was much better. The 2007 vintage tastes like a young wine with a little bit of green tannin in the background and may benefit for another 2-3 years in the cellar. Would recommend decanting for at least an hour before drinking. Tasted June 2012
Rosemount Diamond Label Shiraz 2009, Southeastern Australia
Australia$14.95
Typical Aussie Shiraz, even better with four years in the bottle, but don't expect too much. Tasted June 2013.
Jacob's Creek Shiraz Cabernet 2008, Southeastern Australia
Australia$12.95
Decent Cab-Shiraz from Australia, but still a little bit young / medium body to my taste. Tasted January 2012.
Sledgehammer Zinfandel 2010
California, Usa$16.95
Dry, medium-bodied Zin, i.e. made of the same grape as Primitivo in Italy. Very easy to drink but nothing exceptional. Tasted January 2013.
Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Paso Robles
California, Usa$19.95
Excellent Cab-Sauvignon, very smooth and nice finish. Make sure not to let get too warm on a hot summer day. I even chilled mine a bit and took it out an hour before drinking. Tasted great ! Tasted June 2012.
Santa Carolina Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2011
Chile$8.45
Fine choice for a large group as it should appeal to most people. Tasted September 2013.
D'arenberg The Stump Jump Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2010, South Australia
Australia$13.29
Tasted October 2012.
Oyster Bay Pinot Noir 2011, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$19.95
Great, smooth Pinot Noir that all your guests will like. Perfect for holiday meals when you need a light wine. Tasted December 2013.
Jackson Triggs Black Series Meritage 2010, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$13.95
Fairly decent effort. Well worth of the Christmas parties you will be throwing pretty soon. Nice full-body wine at a decent price. Tasted December 2012.
