The Wine Sisters are Erin and Courtney Henderson - sister sommeliers who love to eat, drink, and be pretty merry.
You could say our love of wine runs in the family. When we were kids, our dad, who also worked in the wine business, would travel the world's wine regions and come home with enchanting tales of the champagne caves in France or the impossibly steep vineyard slopes in Germany.
We like to joke that when all the other kids were learning to ride their bikes, we were learning about fermentation.
Well, fast forward 20 years or so, and we've both earned our sommelier certification through CAPS. We went on to work as sommeliers and restaurant managers in Toronto, and in 2010 we decideded to open our own sommelier services and wine events agency.
And so just like our Dad did with us, we're now telling others about wine regions we've visited and new wines we've tasted. And we can't wait to talk with you about it, too.

Flor De Vetus Verdejo 2012, Do Rueda
Rueda, Spain$15.95
Aromatic and refreshing with stone fruit, wet stone, grapefruit and touch of mint/menthol on the nose and flavours of ripe peach, pink grapefruit, and mineral with a zippy lemon finish. A fun, easy drinking summer wine.
Inniskillin Niagara Estate Pinot Grigio 2012, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$14.95
A bright and fun nose of subtle peach and pear aromatics, with a crisp and refreshing palate. Great choice to kick start dinner parties, or pair with fried calamari or vegetarian appetizers.
Mission Hill Reserve Chardonnay 2010, VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$21.95
A Vintages Essential, this is an easy drinking chard that has good value for the money. Aromas and flavours of lemon/lime, toast, and ripe orchard fruit, it’s soft and round on the palate with nice acidity – a great pick for a party wine or as an everyday chardonnay.
Abbona Rinaldi Barbera D'alba 2010, Doc
Piedmont, Italy$14.75
Barbera is easy drinking, food friendly and (usually) a good price. Slightly bloody, red berry, red licorice aromas followed by a mid weight palate with bright red cherry and spice notes. Vibrant acidity, and mild tannin, enjoy with everything from spicy charcuterie plates to gnocchi with pork ragu.
Cathedral Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Wo Western Cape
South Africa$15.95
Pouring deep inky, purple, with aromas of sweet blackberry, fresh leather, cooking spice and menthol. Full bodied and plush on the palate with savoury, earthy notes and firm acids balanced by big tannin and a lengthy, black tea finish.
Brumont Gros Manseng Sauvignon 2012, Cote De Gascogne
Southwest, France$10.75
A lively and refreshing wine with a nose of fresh green herbs, pear, pink grapefruit and a slight chive and funky note. Medium bodied and fairly creamy on the palate with zippy acidity and fresh flavours of orchard and stone fruit, mineral and a tart lemon/green apple finish. Great value for patio sipping.
Château Des Charmes Cuvée D'andrée Rosé 2012, Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$14.95
Made of 100% Pinot Noir, this pretty pink sipper offers aromas of red raspberry, Bing cherry and key lime notes. On the palate, red berry fruits and citrus continue, with a slightly bitter pink grapefruit finish and subtle herbaceous note. Fresh and lively with bright acidity, this is a fantastic choice for whiling away the afternoon with a cheese plate, or pairing with a fresh seafood dinner. Terrific value for the price.
Kacaba Vineyards Unoaked Chardonnay 2012, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$14.95
A fantastic summer sipper that’s fresh and crisp with aromatics of ripe pear and peach with mineral edges. Focused on the palate with vibrant acidity and flavours of juicy orchard fruit and a bitter lemon pith finish. Bring this along for dockside dining of spicy grilled prawns or summer fresh salads.
Trius Pinot Grigio 2011, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$15.95
A faint pinkish/coppery hue in the glass, this is fragrant with ripe peach and floral aromatics. Surprisingly weighty for a Pinot Grigio, with a soft, creamy texture and ripe flavours of stone fruit, paraffin and a lemon-citrus finish. Great acidic lift offers some nice balance. Very good value for the money.
William Fèvre Champs Royaux Chablis 2011, Burgundy
Burgundy, France$24.95
An elegant and lean example of unoaked Chardonnay, with aromas of flint, lemon and green apple, the palate offers decent weight and structure with a mineral edge and a saline savouriness. Did some say oysters...?
