Hatzidakis Santorini Assyrtiko 2014
Greece$27.25
Outsdanding complex Assyrtiko. Weighty and very heavy dose of minerality of the sort That I Have some trouble putting into words. I love these wines
Domaine De La Borde Arbois Pupillin Côte De Caillot 2014
Jura, France$40.25
Typically creamy/lactic jura style, showing ripe apple, vibrant acidity and good minerality. Subtly oxidized but not evoking bitterness or any austere character. This is elegant, supple and youthful... beautiful chardonnay.
Alain Lorieux Expression Chinon 2010
Loire, France$20.25
Good, classic chinon, but this works for me
La Tercera Reserva 2010, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$22.25
Tightly wound but good structure and balance. Not concentrated or jammy but quite old school approach. However fruit is dominating now. Perhaps the tabacco/leather savoury flavors need time to develop alongside the not-so-ripe plum and sour cherry flavors. Good stuff
Taurino Cosimo A 64 2006
Puglia, Italy$27.45
Still kicking...showing archetypal Italian savory aromas and palate coating body....oak, dark and red fruit and secondary aromas (animal, leafy) ...excellent buy
This (july 2017) is showing even better than all previous tastings. Mouth coating and luscious, long finish and perfect balance.....so italian
Seghesio Zinfandel Sonoma 2014
California, Usa$29.95
Concentrated but decent acidity and structre. Chocolate, licorice and spice dark jam. Better Than Most zinfandels That Ive Had
Schug Chardonnay Carneros 2015
California, Usa$31.00
Far more than i Anticipated balance upon tasting. Oak is present, it is intended not overly weighty gold Extracted. The ripe pineapple compliments the butter / toast and is balanced with a good acidity. Good stuff, worth seeking out.
Errazuriz Max Reserva Pinot Noir 2014
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$18.55
Far exceeded my expectations, lots of spice and good fruit and acidity, quite balanced. Nice southern hemisphere Pinot tastes like pinot from Chile, qui scores big point in my book for a pinot under 20. Good buy
Zymè Celestino Gaspari 60 20 20 2010, Veneto
Veneto, Italy$48.25
Typically venetian with dark fruit, generous amounts of oak and spice as well as a hint of sweetness. The French varietals do express themselves as well, especially in the form of bell pepper.
Château La Fleur Pourret 2009, Ac Saint émilion Grand Cru
Bordeaux, France$39.95
classic, still tight/austere . Not overdone, good red fruit - requires food
