Domaine De Grand Pre Tidal Bay 2018, Annapolis Valley
Nova Scotia, Canada$20.00
Pear and floral nose, orange and pineapple flavours. Fruty and juicy with nicely balanced acidity. Good value.
Crisera Armacia Rosso 2017
Calabria, Italy$20.50
Cherry and grapy to begin with but follows with some earthy and savoury notes which add interest. Juicy with soft tannins, goes down easy for sure.
Château Mayne Vieil 2016, Ac Fronsac
Bordeaux, France$19.95
Youthful and tannic currently. Smooth and elegant though. Should be even nicer in 2-3 years. Good value indeed.
Bachelder Niagara Chardonnay 2018, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Restrained, rich "Burgundian" style meaning not overtly fruity showing signs of butter and oak. Elegant. Should go well with food.
El Bufon Verdejo 2018, Rueda Do
Rueda, Spain$19.95
Nose is expressive. Flavour is fresh fruit and herbs. Light, fresh and quite flavourful overall.
Ayre Verdejo 2019, D.O. Rueda
Rueda, Spain$19.92
Pleasant flora, pear, melon. Good acidity. Youthful, nice everyday wine. This wine did shine with food more than on its own, so would certainly recommend in that context.
Diez Siglos Nékora Verdejo 2019, D.O. Rueda
Rueda, Spain$18.22
Promising nose that does not quite deliver on the palate. Good acidity with a modicum of fruit, mostly melon and citrus.
Trimbach Pinot Blanc 2018, Ac Alsace
Alsace, France$20.95
Much the same as the experts: melon, bready, almond, citrus and white tree fruit. Good depth of flavour for this grape. Like the peppery spice on the finish.
Montesol Rueda Sauvignon Blanc 2019, D.O. Rueda
Rueda, Spain$29.52
A rich and supple SB. Some floral/honey. Finish of bitter herbs complements the honey attack with ripe fruit in the middle. Nice to sip and good with food. Very good balance.
Bruno Zanasi Lambrusco Grasparossa Castelvetro 2019, Castel Nuovo Rangone Modena
Emilia Romagna, Italy$25.05
I can understand that this may a good example of Lambrusco but for me as a wine in general there is nothing special. Concord grape jam on the nose and bitter grape seeds in the flavour.
