Bellingham Shiraz Viognier 2007
South Africa$11.40
Plums, smokiness, and spice on the nose. Full-bodied wine with a noticeably high alcohol level and lots and lots of fruit. Juicy, but maybe a bit over the top.
Trout Valley Riesling 2009, Nelson
New Zealand$9.95
Green apple, floral notes, apricots, and terpentine on the nose. Crisp acidity and plenty of fruit on this off-dry wine. Outstanding value - this is easily worth $15 or more.
Pessoa Da Vinha Reserva Douro 2010
Douro, Portugal$12.45
Blackberries, mint, and chocolate on the nose. It has lots of fruit and firm tannin. This wine can age for at least another 2-3 years.
Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2009, Wo Coastal Region
South Africa$13.95
Smoky, meaty, and peppery aromos. Some juicy fruit and a structure that will allow for aging 3-5 years.
Montes Classic Series Sauvignon Blanc 2009, Curico Valley
Chile$6.95
Grassy aromas with gooseberry and lemon. Crisp acidity and fruity but lacking on the back palate.
Castano Hecula 2008, Yecla
Spain$12.60
This wine has plenty of fruit but it is backed by solid tannins and crisp acidity. Plums and blackberries are prominent and there is a hint of pepperiness as well.Ready to drink now but will keep and even improve over 2-3 years.
