Perrin Réserve 2009, Ac Côtes Du Rhône
Rhône, France$15.95
Nice medium-bodied GSM. More acidity than a GSM from the New World (or really SGM as they come from Australia and others), but a lot more complexity too. Tasted April 2012.
Mcwilliam's Hanwood Estate Shiraz 2009, Southeastern Australia
Australia$14.95
Very average Shiraz that falls flat with not much complexity and finish. Overly sweet. Tasted December 2012
Chateau Peyrou 2006, Cotes De Castillon, Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$15.95
Was pleasantly surprised with this Merlot. Tasted fairly light and harsh upon opening but within an hour of decanting, it tasted full bodied and great and had very decent complexity and length at this price point. Tasted April 2012.
Sterling Vintner's Collection Merlot 2009, Central Coast, California
California, Usa$16.00
Nice wine but not much complexity and average length. Tasted February 2013.
Zenato Soave Classico 2010
Veneto, Italy$8.95
Excellent, simple and inexpensive white wine for eating outdoors on a nice summer day. Tasted May 2013.
Castello Del Poggio Moscato
Piedmont, Italy$15.45
First time I tried a semi-sparkling wine and fully enjoyed it. Same type of experience as drinking a rose wine on a hot summer day, but with a lot more elegance. Pretty impressive for this low price. Tasted May 2013.
Rosemount Diamond Label Shiraz 2010, Southeastern Australia
Australia$14.95
Enjoyed it but needed a good hour of decanting to really deliver a nice tasting experience. Good choice wine when you want to play it safe at a party, but don't expect too much complexity. Tasted August 2012.
Poderi Angelini Primitivo Di Manduria 2008
Puglia, Italy$18.95
Very powerful wine which tasted great after an hour of decanting, but turned bitter after a couple of hours. Drink quickly! Tasted June 2013.
Lurton Les Fumées Blanches Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Vin De France
France$12.95
OK as an weekday wine, but nothing special. Tasted August 2013.
Louis Bernard Cotes Du Rhone Villages 2010
Rhône, France$14.95
Great wine for the numerous Christmas parties you will be attending or hosting. Tasted December 2012.
