Baron De Ley Gran Reserva 2001, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$29.95
I'm not inclined to exaggerations, but every now and then you come across an extraordinary surprise, and this is one. What a beautiful silky smooth, yet with luxurious depth, this Rioja is!
Enjoy, pausing to let in sink in, let it dance around in your mouth, and be happy... Viva Spain!

Le Fraghe Rodòn Chiaretto 2017, Bardolino
Veneto, Italy$25.00
Delicious, clean, crispy... pairs beautifully with fish/scallops in a light acidic/citrus-based sauce.
Chill it and happy summer libations!
Viña Olabarri Gran Reserva 2010, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$33.00
Lovely Gran Reserva. Stand bottle upright hours prior to opening. Decant (there is some sediment).Let rest at least an hour. Enjoy. There sure is a lot of yummy goodness in this wine.
Road 13 Vineyards 5th Element 2013, Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$49.10
Powerful deliciousness, bold character, full body, maybe a tad too much alcohol, but boy is it ever good, this is Bordeaux style done justice.
Ivaldi Dario Nizza 2015, Monferrato
Italy$31.78
Another pleasant surprise from the Wine Exchange selection. I usually don't go for Barbera, since I prefer a Barolo when looking for this kind of body and depth, a fact that partially explains why this one really surpassed my expectations!
