Visually the wine presents with a deep violet colour. A very complex nose including dark fruit like plum, black cherry, blueberry, açai, earthy and herbal notes of leather, charcoal, wet leaves, white pepper, and vanilla. There is also a distinct umami character of sausage and soy sauce. The palate is full body and well integrated with medium acidity and silky fine tannins.
Great wine. Easy to drink, very well balanced.
The alcohol is very well integrated. Drinks well now when aerated. Will open the second bottle in a few years to see development.
Decanted and swirled about an hour prior to drinking. It was excellent.
