A nice dry and full-bodied petite syrah. Ink red colour. Aromatic bouquet of blackberries and chocolate. Lingering flavours of black cherries, blueberries, black licorice, and dark vanilla. Good balance. Smooth with a tart edge. Tasted July 2011.

Catena Alta Chardonnay 2009, Estate Lots, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$39.95
Terrific Chardonnay. I detected a touch of sweetness which is perfectly balanced with slight acidity. A lovely palate of creamy peach butterscotch. Excellent length on the finish. Possibly my favorite Chardonnay, and certainly as good as some that cost twice as much. A great value, at under$40. Tasted March 2012 and November 2012.
Pirramimma Petit Verdot 2007, Mclaren Vale

Very nice - but at this price, it should be. Tasted December 2012.
