A very nice Australian chardonnay. A good amount of toasted oak on the palate which combines nicely with flavours of peaches and and hazelnuts. Interesting minerality. Excellent finish. Tasted December 2012.

Catena Alta Malbec Historic Rows 2009, Mendoza

Oh My! What a lovely Malbec. I will certainly be picking up a few more to cellar. This will undoubtedly improve even more with a bit of age. Tasted November 2012.

Closson Chase South Clos Vineyard Chardonnay 2010, VQA Prince Edward County

Lots of buttery oak on the palate. Nice length on the finish. A pretty good Chardonnay from Prince Edward County. Tasted February 2013.

Stags' Leap Winery Petite Sirah 2007, Napa Valley

A nice dry and full-bodied petite syrah. Ink red colour. Aromatic bouquet of blackberries and chocolate. Lingering flavours of black cherries, blueberries, black licorice, and dark vanilla. Good balance. Smooth with a tart edge. Tasted July 2011.

Hartenberg Shiraz 2007, Wo Stellenbosch

A very smooth and enjoyable South African shiraz. Paired very well with grilled steak. Tasted Febraury 2013.

Penfolds Bin 138 Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvèdre 2009, Barossa Valley, South Australia

A lovely Grenache/Syrah/Mourverde blend. Dark purple colour. Blackberry, blueberries, bilberry, and cherries on the nose. Silky smooth on the palate. Excellent length on the finish. Definitely a wine that will make a nice addition to our home cellar. Tasted February 2012.
