Here is a rich and well structured Shiraz with very intense aromas of black fruit, raisin, pepper, menthol and toasty oak. The mouthfeel of this full bodied wine is powerful and rich, almost creamy due to the ripe and rich fruit, roasted coffee and toasty oak flavours, fresh acidity, grainy tannins and alcohol coming in at 14.5%. Maturation took place in French and American oak for 24 months. Long, spicy and sweet concentrated finish. A big wine for sure, with generous fruit and oak flavours without excess or jammyness. Strongly recommended for lovers of this style.

Deep, rich flavour, and very smooth. Forty bucks is a lot to pay for an Australian Shiraz, but this one delivers.
Quite honesestky, this was in the .... Angle crying on my tongue category.
Were the marginal benefits that. Uh greater than a good bottle of 30m or $20 bottle of wine?
I guess that is a question with no answer as each experience is its own.
Fricken good, I am splurging to buy and age another, t is that good
Excellent shiraz. Dark purple colour. Well balanced, with lovely tannins. Tasted February 2012 and September 2013.
Tasted Jan 2013.
A little overrated at 92 ? As an avid Aussie Shiraz fan I was a little disappointed but will cellar a couple of bottles in the hope that this may "mellow" with maturity ? Spend a little more and experience Mitchell McNicol Shiraz 278572 or any of the Hazyblur offerings if you can find them.
