Loan Wines Special Reserve Semillon 2004, Unoaked, Barossa Valley, South Australia

Certainly different than any wine I've tried before. Aromas of wet hay on the nose, and waxy bitter petrol on the palate. Hard to believe that this wine is unoaked, as there us distinctive oakiness to its finish. It's distinctes will likely not appeal to the masses, but make for an interesting selection for those with adventurous tastes. Tasted April 2014.

Yalumba Fdw[7c] Chardonnay 2008, Adelaide Hills, South Australia

Very good value Chardonnay. Some smokey flavours initially on the palate, combined with a creamy butterscotch finish. A nice wine at an entry level price. Tasted February 2012.

Henry's Drive Shiraz 2007, Padthaway, South Australia

Outstanding Shiraz. Pepper, leather, black licorice, smoke and dark cherry scents. Nice tannins. Good length on the finnish. Well priced at just under $25. Tasted May 2012.
