Apollonio Valle Cupa 2004, Igt Salento
Puglia, Italy$12.95
full bodied, big texture, raisin/plum like. I really liked this, and would easily buy it again for $15. Had with grilled lamb, but could do steak or even pasta with tomato/meat sauce.
Viña Tarapacá Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Maipo Valley
Maipo Valley, Chile$17.95
This was a full-throttled cab sauv, great wih steak or strong cheese, should have bought more.
Caliterra Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 2011, Casablanca Valley
Chile$9.95
Nice wine, typical passion fruit, red gratefruit nose, light and crisp. Well worth the money.
Farnese Casale Vecchio Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2010, Abruzzo
Abruzzo, Italy$10.95
Very good with pasta in meaty red sauce. Recommended.
Sterling Vintner's Collection Merlot 2009, Central Coast, California
California, Usa$16.00
had with a lamb meatloaf, a great pairing. Roast beef or lamb would also work nicely. Decant 1hr - very nice.
Clos Du Val Zinfandel 2009, Napa Valley
California, Usa$31.95
This was a deep dark beauty. Great with steak, but would pair well with BBQ ribs, burgers, or most anything grilled.
La Posta Cocina Tinto Blend 2010
Mendoza, Argentina$12.95
decent for the money, nothing more. Likey could use another year. Not fantastic.
Finca Flichman Expresiones Reserve Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$15.95
nice grilled meat wine, Steaks, lamb, burgers. Reasonable for price, but not a show-stopper.
Ghost Pines Winemaker's Blend Chardonnay 2010, Sonoma/Monterey/Napa Counties
California, Usa$19.95
Very nice, buttery Cali Chard, with lots of yellow and green fruit flavours. Loved it.
Canonica A Cerreto Chianti Classico 2008, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$16.95
nice Chianti at the price. Juicey cherry, with nicely rounded oak. I think my bottle had some cork taint going on, but it was good none the less. Had with spagetti and meatballs, the classic pairing.
