Graffigna Centenario Malbec Reserve 2011
San Juan, Argentina$13.95
I enjoyed this with a rib eye, but it would pair well with grilled lamb or burgers. Very enjoyable, 88/89
Jackson Triggs Reserve Meritage 2012, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$13.95
worth the $11, went for second bottle. Quite nice.
Château Godard Bellevue 2011, Ac Côtes De Bordeaux Francs
Bordeaux, France$19.50
This was impressive at $15. Great with beef bourguignon. Bought 3 more. 89/90
Tollo Colle Secco Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2007, Abruzzo
Abruzzo, Italy$9.00
Maybe I am a sucker for "excessive mocha-vanilla oak"? A great match for pasta with rich meaty red sauce (esp. lamb). I keep buying it and am always impressed. I believe I am drinking 2008 now, which is still solid. Strongly recommended, a go-to wine for Thursday night Italian, nicer than all of the other cheap montis.
Osoyoos Larose Petales D' Osoyoos 2009, VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$24.95
I enjoyed this, although the 2007 seemed a little more polished (tried it once). The '09 may improve a bit in a year or two as well, or decant well and enjoy now. Respectfully disagree with the pros on this one. 89-90
Villa Mt. Eden Grand Reserve Chardonnay 2008, Bien Nacido Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley
California, Usa$19.95
A little heavy on the oak, not as good as the 2007, Still tasty.
Loosen Bros. Dr. L Riesling 2012, Qualitätswein
Mosel, Germany$13.95
LIght and simple, off-dry, very tastey with a turkey dinner with gravey. I bought a second one.
Z De L'arjolle Zinfandel 2011, Vin De France
Languedoc, France$19.95
Tasted January 2015. Big flavour but not as sweet as a Cali Zinf. Lamb, steak, burgers. This has lots of staying power and my second bottle will be tasted in 2016+. This might be a 90 at that point.
