Canonica A Cerreto Chianti Classico 2008, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$16.95
nice Chianti at the price. Juicey cherry, with nicely rounded oak. I think my bottle had some cork taint going on, but it was good none the less. Had with spagetti and meatballs, the classic pairing.
Rocca Delle Macìe Chianti Riserva 2008
Tuscany, Italy$15.95
nice chianti, perfect for any pasta with red sauce, particularly a meat sauce. Recommended.
Maycas Del Limarí Reserva Especial Syrah 2009, Limarí Valley
Limari Valley, Chile$16.75
Fantastic. Dark fruit (blackberries), peppery, great with mixed shishkabobs.
Santa Carolina Gran Reserva Petit Verdot 2011, Rapel Valley
Rapel Valley, Chile$15.95
Dense, inky hue, smoky and full bodied with dark fruit flavours. Very nice, wish I had purchased a second one.
Bersano Costalunga Barbera D'asti 2011, Piedmont
Piedmont, Italy$12.95
This was very nice with pizza, and would certainly work with light tomato sauce or a variety of other dishes. Worth every penny.
Abad Dom Bueno Crianza 2006, Do Bierzo
Galicia, Spain$15.95
A deep, dark beauty. Very nice with a leg or lamb. 89/90
Monte Zovo Sa' Solin Ripasso Valpolicella 2012, Doc
Veneto, Italy$17.95
Nose of dark cherries, tastes of cherries, herbs and sundried tomatoes. We enjoyed this with veal parmesan.
Penfolds Thomas Hyland Shiraz 2012, Adelaide, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$18.75
Over-rated in my opinion. Not much going on for me, particularly for the price.
