Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Margaret River
Western Australia, Australia$21.95
Even after a one hour decant this was still somewhat green on the nose. The flavour was reasonable but uninspiring for a $22 wine, not much depth/complexity. Short finish. Decent at $15. Not worth $22. Not a repeat buy.
Tormaresca Trentangeli 2012, Doc Castel Del Monte
Puglia, Italy$19.95
Went well with veal parm/red sauce. Next time will pair with a lamb dish.
Mullineux Kloof Street Red 2014
South Africa$15.75
Underwhelming and somewhat overrated in my opinion. Decent wine, not outstanding in any way. It was food friendly and smooth I suppose. Certainly not offensive. 88-89.
13th Street Cabernet/Merlot 2013, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$16.25
I found this to be green and overly oaked. No depth of flavour, other than new oak. Certainly no pleasant flavours. I bought this on the clearance rack for $12 and will not be going back for a second bottle.
Kilikanoon Prodigal Grenache 2013, Clare Valley
South Australia, Australia$20.75
Subtle and smooth, this grew on me with each sip.
Château Godard Bellevue 2010, Ac Côtes De Bordeaux Francs
Bordeaux, France$14.95
This was a repeat winner, particularly at the price. Tidy value.
Ca De Riva Ripasso 2008, Valpolicella
Veneto, Italy$11.20
nice ripasso for $14, I bought another botle
Ruffino Aziano Chianti Classico 2008, Tuscany
Tuscany, Italy$17.95
Not offensive in any way, but certainly did not stand out. Decent pizza or pasta with red sauce wine.
Sartori Amarone Della Valpolicella 2006, Doc
Veneto, Italy$37.95
This was a big disappointment. Not worth $10, let alone $40.
