This is an incredible dessert wine- smells like rose and tastes like turkish delight and lychee. this will definitely be on the repeat purchase list- definitely ready to drink as is and perfect for a date night, a glass by yourself on a night you want to pamper yourself.

wow! incredibly aromatic with a deep purple/scarlet colour- young and intense
rich and juicy- front end loaded with round dry finish. great value!
-this grape has a ot of character- i can understand if not everyone will enjoy it- but worth finding out!

Rotllán Torra Crianza 2007, Doc Priorat

-While I'm sur ethis would be a good wine for a more sophisticated palette- I couldn't stand it.
-burgundy red, aromas of wood/bark, wet cedar, alcohol, syrup and liqueur.
-dry
-a bit unexpected- coats the mouth- has some viscosity to it0
medicinal taste
-has a bit of a brandy or sherry effect
-long finish.

definitely not a wine i would ever look for- has quite a bit of complexity typical of the old world that i don't especially appreciate.

Cusumano Syrah 2010, Sicily

saturday night-lihgt and late casual relaxed movie night dinner
colour:ruby red
aroma- alcohol
(it's italian- what did you expect?)- plum-smell but beneath the heavy alcohol
flavour- unexpectedly ,mild- dry with soft tannin- medium length, bit herbacious,
notes: good table wine for pizza, pasta

nice dry table wine- not great value- average.

85 taste- could be an 8$ bottle

Fifth Leg Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2011

LCBO New World Wine- Australia 1/8
-Pear, grass, aromatic, pineapple
-medium finish
-smooth,
-no oak, steel cask- clean and dry
-Good but would not purchase- there is better value elsewhere

Fantini Farnese Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2010

deep red/purple colour
-berry and methyl on the nose (pleasant)
-swirl-
smell-dark berries and plum, licorice

-more approachable than a chianti
-stewed blackberry and burned cherry
-pleasant sipper- would pair well with grilled chicken, beef tongue, (heavier chicken or a lighter red meat)

-Extremely good value for a weekday sipper.

Donnafugata Tancredi 2007

Italy- 8/8 tasting:
Crimson purple colour. smells full and thick- heavy smell
-med to firm tannins, meaty, dry finish
-gets better with long decanting times- definitely needs to breath-
would not purchase.

Mas Des Aveylans Syrah Cuvée Prestige 2005, Vin De Pays D'oc (Château Des Aveylans)

paid 21$ at independent Wine store in Vancouver.

A well balanced, quite weak syrah.
As in, it doesn't taste like a syrah.
Good, would not purchase again- it was good, just not good value.

great value- alternative to a celebratory champagne
-slow lazy bubbles- sprtizy on tongue,
-green apple, yeast, citrus
-fresh light and crisp
-refreshing, nice acidity

-would buy if a sparkling wine or champagne were necessary but tight on $

D' Arenberg The Stump Jump Lightly Wooded Chardonnay 2009, Mclaren Vale

-creamy and oaky,
-vanilla, honey and pear
-medium long finish- i don't particularly like the finish
-very good but lacking..
-a safe table wine to bring to a party.
