QPR - Quality to Price Ratio - is an important factor when you are buying wine. Whether it is $9.00 or $59.00 you want to feel your wine is worth the spend. I post my suggestions on my blog and on Twitter. As well I talk about my Cellar Treasures and review Wine Books.

Bernard Massard Cuvée De L'écusson Brut Sparkling, Traditional Method
Luxembourg, World$21.95
I tasted this in September and was so pleased for the price. Green apple, pear, citrus, biscuit and a hint of nuttiness.
Frascole Chianti Rufina 2009, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$16.95
Earthy nose of cherry, balsamic and herbs. Rich, mouthfilling and medium bodied palate, with dried cherry fruit, spice and black tea finish. Food friendly.
Les Grandes Serres Rasteau 2010, Ap, Préstige Des Grandes Serres
Rhône, France$16.95
Blackberry and Black cherry and wild herbs on the nose. Stewed berry compote and spice on the palate. Pleasing enough but I liked the wine more with my meal than on its own because of the heat; the alcohol is showing through putting this wine slightly off balance. tasted Sept '13
Martini & Rossi Asti
Italy$16.40
The ultimate breakfast bubbly. Sweet and approachable with floral, apricot nose and grapey, light lime citrus on the palate. Simple, approachable - you get what you expect from the style.
Château De Nages Réserve Blanc 2009, Ac Costières De Nîmes
Languedoc, France$14.95
Grenache/Roussanne blend – floral, citrus, spice and baked peach, tastes like it smells (wonderful)
Henry Of Pelham Sibling Rivalry White 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$13.95
This blend of Riesling, Chardonnay & Gewurtztraminer blend has the crisp acid of a Riesling but the both and perfume of the other varieties. White blossom, peach and gentle lemon on the nose that follows through on the palate with balanced with clean citrus finish
L'or Des Templiers Minervois 2009, Ap
Languedoc, France$12.75
Mid-weight wine of good complexity. A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. Blackberry, raspberry and wild herbs both on the nose and the palate. Ripe fruitiness throughout.
Kacaba Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2008, VQA Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$15.75
Perfumed nose of red flowers, spicy dark fruit. Medium mouth feel. Good complexity for price.
Cavino Nemea Reserve 2006, Aoqs Nemea
Nemea, Greece$14.95
Dried cherry, chocolate, prune, leather, earthy. Complex and impressive for the price.
Senda 66 Tempranillo 2008, La Mancha
Spain$13.95
I picked up this wine because I like Tempranillo, the label is interesting & it had a little tag with a Parker rating of 90. I am perhaps being too harsh at 75, but 75 says average & that is what I felt it was, plus Wine Align does not allow me to plug in 78/79. There is nothing wrong with it BUT it does not have good typicity and was not what I was expecting based on the label notes. It is overripe, chocolatey and candied in nature. Lovers of full-bodied jammy wines will be happy at $13.95 but I wanted a leaner, more interesting Tempranillo.
