QPR - Quality to Price Ratio - is an important factor when you are buying wine. Whether it is $9.00 or $59.00 you want to feel your wine is worth the spend. I post my suggestions on my blog and on Twitter. As well I talk about my Cellar Treasures and review Wine Books.

Malivoire Pinot Gris 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Well-integrated wine with apple, melon, mineral and lime on the nose. Long citrus finish.
Creekside Shiraz 2010, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$15.95
I think this wine is great value for the price and a pleasing wine. Dark fruits, herbs and peppery notes on the nose that follow through on the palate.
Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut Cava
Spain$17.00
This is a simple pleasing wine because it is great quality for the price. It alson comes in numerous sizes so it is handy for many occassions. It has lemon and biscuit on both the nose and palate, but the clean acidity makes it more like lemon zest. Pairs well with seafood, or nothing on a hot summer day!
Domaine De Vaugondy Brut Vouvray, Traditional Method, Ac, Loire, France
Loire, France$16.75
Toasty nose with baked peach, pear and a honeyed quality. Stone fruit, lemon lime cleansing acid on palate. It is well integrated with a medium plus finish, just not as much complexity as I hoped for compared to other Vouvrays I have had recently. That being said, it is well-priced for the quality.
Château De Nages Réserve 2009, Ac Costières De Nîmes
Rhône, France$11.45
This wine is an incredible pleasure, especially for the price. Sorry that I am at the last of this because the stock is critically low. Well-Priced at $14.95, even better at $11.45! 70% Grenache / 30% Syrah. It is quite complex with ripe red and black fruit, spicy and slightly herbal, nicely balanced.
Paul Delane Cremant De Bourgogne
Burgundy, France$16.50
Honeydew melon, lime blossom, brioche and apple nose. pleasing, fresh lemon-lime citrus palate.
Château Moncontour Tête De Cuvée Brut Sparkling Vouvray, Traditional Method, Ac, Loire, France
Loire, France$19.95
Bright nose of green apple, pear and lime blossom. Crisp apple-lemony palate. Medium finish. Fantastic for the price!
Sandbanks Estate Riesling 2009, Ontario VQA
Ontario, Canada$14.95
Honeysuckle, peach and mineral on the nose. Beautiful lemon - lime, honeyed finish. Off dry.
Henry Fessy Moulin â Vent 2009, Ac
Beaujolais, France$21.95
Candied cassis, red flower, toastiness on nose, raspberry, cherry & clove on the palate
Leone De Castris Riserva Salice Salentino 2007, Doc
Puglia, Italy$18.95
Rich black fruit, earthy, smoky with a hint of anise. Well integrated and beautifully balanced.
