This is a fairly soft and actually rather dilute sauvignon with typical guava, lime and herbs, but the aromas are...

With green apple, citrus, peach and flint on the nose, good acid, a bit of bite and less fruit on the palate than on the nose, this was definitely different than a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I liked the minerality and found this one to be a refreshing, subtle sipper.

Straw in colour with medium+ intense nose.

A nice change from the typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs

Positives: This easy drinking wine features pear, lemon, with some gooseberry & limestone. Medium body with good acidity a long length.

Negatives: None

Drink now on its own or cellar it for another 2 years. Pair it with red snapper ceviche.

Tasted: 11 June 2013

From the LCBO General List and always available, the 2012 version has herbaceous, citrus, lemon rind, butter aromas of medium intensity. Palate is medium-bodied and extra dry with unexpected pear and butter notes. Nice acidity with a lingering finish that shows hints of spice. Also contains 8% Semillón and 2% Sauvignon Gris. Easy drinking and food friendly. Tasted June/2013.

The Casa Lapostolle Sauvignon Blanc 2012, with added 8% Semillon and 2% Sauvignon Gris, is intensely aromatic with notes of green apple, citrus and light mineral notes. It is an extra dry, medium bodied, fruit forward wine, with forward acidity, subtle - lees imparted tannins and a medium, heavier and warm finish. It is food friendly; drink now to 2015/16. My impression: NOTHING SPECIAL, 86 pts. Tasted privately with Charles de Bournet Marnier Lapostolle in June/13.

Mineral, lemon-lime, grapefruit and mineral notes are obscured by a sulfur note that doesn't seem to blow off here. There's decent intensity on the light-bodied palate from the citrus notes and some chalkiness that's nice, but the wine suffers a bit because of the sulfur. Possibly worth a re-visit with some time.
