This wine pours a beautifully dark ruby in color and opened up with aromas of black cherry, dark plums, blackcurrants, forest floor, sandalwood, tobacco and vanilla notes. On the mouthfeel, medium-full bodied, great flavours, beautifully structured, harmonious with fresh acidity and fined grained tannins. A great deal of finesse and elegance on the finish, with nice sweet and sour fruit flavours and savoury spices lingering. I love the seductive fruit and savoury personality of this Poliziano Vino Nobile and the great mouthfeel, well handled use of barrel fermentation, should age quite nicely over the next three to four years. Gorgeous wine, strongly recommended.

This Sangiovese offers red fruit on the nose with some earthy funk. On the palate there's more red fruit, a medium mouthfeel with alcohol at the end of a lengthy finish. Grippy tannins and juicy acidity. Well matched for tomato based pasta sauces. January 2014.

It's only wine but I like it

Youthful and fresh, Poliziano's '09 Vino Nobile is a particularly savoury Sangiovese. Lean, but ripe dark cherry fruit, with hints of earth, herbs and a slightly tart finish (Sangiovese acidity). Some tannin and alcohol is noted on the finish. Very nicely done, but I think that another year or two of cellaring are still in order for this red. Tasted Dec 2014.
