Here's a well balanced, refined and classy example of Chilean chardonnay, with restrained but noted wood influence...
This organically grown chardonnay has a ripe, classic and complex nose of corn cob, toffee, tobacco and brioche....

Light gold in colour with medium+ intense nose.
A nice balance between oak, fruit and minerality.
Positives: Light to medium toasted oak featuring lemon drops, pears, peach, buttered popcorn, a touch of honey and limestone. Full body with good acidity and a fairly long length.
Negatives: None
Drink now on its own or cellar it for another 5 years. Pair it with roasted turkey.

Made with organic grapes, quite aromatic with smooth and pleasing butter, apple and pear. Creamy and oily on the medium-full bodied frame, and lovely aroma replays. Balanced, long finish. Good acidity for pairing with food. Very nice! Tasted June/2013.

The Casa Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Chardonnay 2011 was made with organically and biodynamically grown grapes from the Atalayas vineyard that subsequently were fermented and aged in French Oak for 8 months. It has captivating aromas of pear, light minerality, butter and subtle oak as well as light hint of roasted coffee beans. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine with checked acidity, soft tannins and a long, slightly hot finish. Food friendly or a stand-alone sipper; drink now - 2018+ (screw cap enclosure). My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89 pts - well crafted wine for fans of Chardonnays lightly imparted by oak and reasonably priced. Tasted privately with Charles de Bournet Marnier Lapostolle in June/13.

Named after the creator of Grand Marnier, Cuvee Alexander is a lovely gold colour and has lots of oak, with buttered popcorn, honey and creamed corn on the nose, as well as tropical fruit and pear. I’m not a huge fan of oaky Chardonnay, but I liked this. There was tropical fruit on the palate and a good, round mouth feel.
