Bodegas Lan Crianza 2006, Doca Rioja
Spain$15.95
Very nice. Cherry and earthy with a smooth and lengthy finish. At this price, I hope to pick up more to keep for a year or two. But not too long - A rough translation of the back label reads : This wine will not last a lifetime in the bottle...Do not keep this bottle for a better occasion that never comes ... Decide to have it at its best and enjoy!
Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Gold Label Chardonnay 2009, Monterey County
California, Usa$19.95
Mitolo Jester Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
Australia$22.95
In hindsight, laying this one in the cellar did not add any enjoyment. It's okay, but each time I put my nose to the glass I am put off by some volatile aroma. Luckily the palate is more enjoyable. I'm going to leave it in the decanter for a bit and come back.
Chateau De L'ille Cuvée Angélique Corbières 2008, Ac
Languedoc, France$15.95
Pronounced peppery nose, for sure, but not enough fruit for my liking. What was there was too sour. My bottle had a lot of sediment, so I'll try another one to see if things change.
Finca Flichman Misterio Malbec 2011, Mendoza
Argentina$8.95
Simple is a good description. Fruity and medium bodied.
Fitapreta Tinto 2008, Vinho Regional Alentejano
Alentejo, Portugal$12.90
If you like how Vintages describes this above, than you'll love this wine. Deep ruby in the glass with coffee and raspberry and smooth tannins. Yum.
Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Red Label Zinfandel 2009, California
California, Usa$22.95
Jammy plums and spice. Easy drinking zin.
Yellowglen Pink Sparkling
Australia$12.30
Inexpensive and tasty patio sparkling, but too carbonated for me.
