Thatched Hut Pinot Noir 2010, Central Otago, South Island

Nice and light. Soft tannins. Candied fruit on the nose. Flavours of dark cherries and tobacco notes on the palate. Decent fnish. All inall a pretty good wine for under $20. Tasted November 2012.

Small Gully Formula Robert's Shiraz 2006, South Australia

Not particularly memorable. Lingering taste of raisins.

Ciù Ciù La Merlettaie Offida Pecorino 2009, Doc

Excellent Italian white wine. Wish I had bought a few more bottles. Smooth, flowery, and light fruit flavours with a hint of green apple. Best served a little closer to room temp, as previously mentioned. Tasted December 2011.

Anne Amie Cuvee A Pinot Noir 2008, Willamette Valley

Chalone Monterey County Chardonnay 2009, Monterey County

Slightly smokey flavoured Chardonnay. Not overtly creamy. Nicely priced.

Domaine Mouton Les Grands Prétans Givry 1er Cru 2009, Ac

Very approachable with a nice amount of toasted oak on the finish. Wish I had ordered a few more. Tasted December 2012.

Domaine De Congy Cuvée Les Galfins Pouilly Fumé 2009, Ac

Enjoyable Sauvignon Blanc. Floral flavours, combined with citrus and tropical fruits. Smooth long finish. Very nice. Tasted February 2012.

Keint He Pineaux Sauvage 2008, Prince Edward County (375ml)

Amber with a slight copper tint in colour. Slightly effervescent. This noble rot affected pinot has flavours of figs and raisins with a sweet finish. Not quite as refined as the better sauternes, but a decent attempt nonetheless. Tasted October 2013.

Château Guiraud 2007, Ac Sauternes (375ml)

A nice way to finish off a great meal. Sweet and tasty, yet always maintaining a lightness that never ventures towards being syrupy. Tasted December 2011.
