Château Guiraud 2007, Ac Sauternes (375ml)
Bordeaux, France$39.85
A nice way to finish off a great meal. Sweet and tasty, yet always maintaining a lightness that never ventures towards being syrupy. Tasted December 2011.
Parducci Sustainable Red 2006, Mendocino County, California
California, Usa$7.95
A pretty decent red blend, especially given the price. Tasted November 2012.
Fielding Estate Syrah 2007, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$39.95
Very pleasant and enjoyable. Tasted May 2012.
Beringer Nightingale Private Reserve Botrytised Sémillon/Sauvignon Blanc 2006, Napa Valley (375ml)
California, Usa$39.95
A decent take on a sauternes style dessert wine from California's Beringer winery. Doesn't quite hit the mark of many of the better known French sauternes, which is where I'd prefer to spend my hard earned dollars given the choice.
Karlo Estates The Fifth Element Petit Verdot 2010, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$33.00
This petit verdot was quite nice. Dark ink in colour. Flavours of blackberries, pepper, leather, dark chocolate. Enjoyable oak smokiness can also be detected. Excellent finish with lingering hints of roasted almonds. Tasted December 2012.
G. Marquis The Silver Line Vidal Icewine 2009, VQA Niagara Peninsula (200ml)
Ontario, Canada$27.95
Like liquid gold. Tasted July 2013.
Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Marlborough
New Zealand$16.95
A good choice at under $15.00. October 2012.
Arboleda Chardonnay 2010, Aconcagua Costa
Casablanca Valley, Chile$19.95
A great value at under $16 a bottle. Light oak, and butterscotch on the palate. Wish I had bought a few more. Tasted June 2012.
