G.Marquis Chardonnay The Silver Line Niagara Stone Road 2019, Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$19.95
A bit of a throwback to the well oaked and ripe fruit style of the past but a pleasure due to its fine balanced. A hint of sweetness from the fruit and oaky butter but balanced by a touch of cold climate crispness (less than the norm). No need to age further, ready to go.
Byron & Harold Rose & Thorns Shiraz 2020, Great Southern
Western Australia, Australia$18.25

Concha Y Toro Serie Riberas Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Do Marchigue, Ribera Del Tinguiririca
Colchagua Valley, Chile$17.95
An excellent cab at the price, with balance, size, complexity and personality (with no funky flavours) that would make it a good deal for $20 or more. Not a boring smoothie
Still holding just fine in early '14, should have bought a case
Brigaldara Valpolicella 2010, Doc
Veneto, Italy$14.95
The anti-Parker wine, this is light on its feet, charming and long on the finish. An introvert of a wine but very easy to drink and enjoy.
Carpenè Malvolti 1868 Brut Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, Docg
Veneto, Italy$19.95
Arboleda Carmenère 2010, Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$14.75
Still tannic but very green but played out
Domæne Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner 2011, Niederösterreich
Niederösterreich, Austria$13.95
A steal at this price. Good complexity and vibrant freshness, with balance and length well beyond the price. Nice change of pace.
