Soren Boundary Spring Red Blend 2022, BC VQA Similkameen Valley Bottle
Soren Boundary Spring Red Blend 2022, BC VQA Similkameen Valley
British Columbia, Canada
$38.95

Received our case of this wine this week and had our first taste today with dinner. What a beauty! Serious grip on the palate. Lovely fragrant nose. This is serious stuff and needs hefty food to match.Very p[leased with our purchase. As Mr. Godel suggests, it might a a year to calm down a bit, but I like it now.

Santa Carolina Specialties Dry Farming Carignan 2010, Cauquenes Valley Bottle
Santa Carolina Specialties Dry Farming Carignan 2010, Cauquenes Valley

Love it! A bit challenging on the palate due to its truly rustic flavour profile but so much fun. Lots of sour fruit as described by Mr. Lawrason, which for me, is delectable! Excellent buy and will definitely train & educate your palate.

Oak Bay Pinot Noir 2019, BC VQA Okanagan Valley Bottle
Oak Bay Pinot Noir 2019, BC VQA Okanagan Valley

Awkwardly disappointing flavour; very light on the fruit with a distinctive tannic seam. You get what you pay for - $20 Pinot. Not recommended.

M. Chapoutier Les Vignes De Bila Haut Côtes De Roussillon 2015, Ac
Languedoc, France
$15.95

What an excellent wine for the money! I agree with Mr. Lawrence, the 2015 vintage is superior to to the bracketed vintages. Superb value for such an intriguing flavour profile at this price point. We stocked-up and will be enjoying this one through 2018.

Wishing for fruit and not finding it. Certainly savoury and the oak is there, overall I like it but won't buy another.

Vadio Tinto 2012, Doc Barraida Bottle
Vadio Tinto 2012, Doc Barraida
Bairrada, Portugal
$19.25

Was expecting so much based on the expert reviews and was somewhat disappointed. At times over the ring the Vadio was distinctly soupy and raisined. For the money, I would avoid it.

Domaine Tournon Mathilda Shiraz 2013, Victoria Bottle
Domaine Tournon Mathilda Shiraz 2013, Victoria

This is a superb wine and excellent value. When compared to Bila Haut & Cave de Roquebrun, both very good buys, I would go for the Tournon because of the superior fruit forward finish. Decanting does help.

Ontañón Crianza 2010, Doca Rioja Bottle
Ontañón Crianza 2010, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain
$16.95

I found this wine, initially, far too "woody". The oak is heavy and predominates, but after ~30 mins., it was much more appealing as the oak subsided.

Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Shiraz 2018, Clare Valley Bottle
Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Shiraz 2018, Clare Valley

$18.75

Not a fan of this one. For my palate, too much chocolate and vanilla and not enough fruit. For the price, Folklore Shiraz is a better buy with a more vibrant flavour profile.

Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2014, Côtes Catalanes

This an excellent wine for the price! JS is right on but I am biased being a great fan of Rhone wines. Tessellae, slightly chilled, is a delight!
