Catena Paraje Altamira Malbec 2017, Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$23.95

2022 + (23?) + 24 or gift one
July 2021>>>only see 2? did I give one away? (may have?) (Dawn?)
April 2022.....had with an 'indoor bbq steak'. Wine was good, not spectacular, but with some time to breathe, it had a chance to settle into something tasty and smooth. Was enjoyed, no complaints. Try #2 in 2024 (if in fact is the last one).
Cave De Roquebrun La Grange Des Combes Saint Chinian Roquebrun 2010, Ac
Languedoc, France$18.95
Never recorded any results but pretty sure all 3 have been had by now (April 2020). Have never been disappointed with this wine....great to drink and great to gift with confidence. Essentially a French GSM though Syrah the main grape at 50%.
Altamira De Los Andes Reserve Malbec 2009, Uco Valley, Mendoza

2018-2021 (2022 max)
CdR meant to be consumed young therefore 2019+2020
xmas 2018....7 were gifted including Mark McKey who really enjoyed it.
Sept/21....had with a hosion beef dish, went just ok. Wine was good, rich, full but flavour wasn't necessarily to my liking on this particular day....perhaps will be better with the right food pairing.
Sept 22....consumed at Smitty's cottage, I warned it might be 'old' but Eric & Dave enjoyed, as did I.
Sept/22....perhaps lucky but was still good, really enjoyed, at home. Was a great buy!
Niepoort Dão Rótulo Red 2013, Doc Dão
Dão, Portugal$15.25
2019 (now)
June 2019.....had with chirizo sausage (Andrew & Crystal over for dinner)....decent wine but nothing special. Good value I suppose. Once was enough.
Guado Al Tasso Il Bruciato 2015, Doc Bolgheri
Tuscany, Italy$25.95
(3) 2020+2021+gift
per NM....Food pairings: grill hanger steak, pork roast, meat and pasta dishes. (Best Beef Wine)
Feb 2021....birthday gift to George
Feb 2021....forget what I paired this with (maybe eggplant parmigiana)...either way I remember quite enjoying it. Smooth and tasty. Have last one with a beef dominant Italian meal (braised brisket?)
July 2023....had with bbq hamburgers. Nice wine, Crystal enjoyed.
Viticcio Chianti Classico 2012, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$19.25
late 2017- 2019
April 2019....Smooth, medium bodied, good but not spectacular, lacked flavour...a good sipper wine....still has 6-12 months left.
May 2019....same as above, enjoyed with Osso Bucco.
Mar 2020.....enjoyed with pasta and homemade pasta sauce.....still good, worked nice with the meal....a lot of sediment but not a detriment.
