Wonderfully balanced blend with a bit of wood spice, plenty of good character and tannin. Tense fruit, layered and...

Every year this blend turns out to be a tasty number...fruity, earthy, oaky and structured.

Enjoyable. Went well with prime rib roast. Tasted January 2014.

Quite alright. A decent blend, with peppery nose, and a not totally rounded palate
(it's a bit edgy on the acidity)... All in all, a good value for its price, above your average Niagara red, but not stellar.

So dark and brooding! Obviously lots of stuffing there, but I found it rather tight and tannic at this juncture. I've enjoyed this blend in past vintages, but it failed to charm me this time around. Perhaps with another year or two of bottle age it would open up and start to sing...

Certainly a well-made red, with ripe red fruit, and plenty of chocolate and coconut flavours from the generous oak treatment. While I wouldn't say the wine is over-oaked, I do find that the oak obscures much of regional character that the wine may have had. If blind tasting this, I would never has guess Niagara (maybe Rioja, but not Niagara). Enjoyable wine, but not quite to my tastes. Picked up on sale at Queens Quay for $14.25. Tasted July 2014.
